About Health is a Media Initiative of the African American Wellness Project

to help underserved communities navigate the healthcare system.

Have you ever gone to see a medical doctor and have felt rushed or uncomfortable about asking questions?

Have you ever been given a diagnosis, with serious consequences and not understood exactly what it meant or what you should do next?

Well, you are not alone.

Our mission is empowering communities of color to improve health outcomes and promote wellness.

It is our belief that while good health begins with diet and exercise, once you enter the health care system, you must be organized to get the most out of it.

The most informed consumer gets the best care.

We believe that Information is Key.

The AAWP develops guides and resources to assist communities to better navigate the Health Care System, particularly the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare.

We also train Health Care Professionals
communicate better to deliver the best care to People of Color.

We have you Covered.
